Longchamp, Partner of the “WAX” Exhibition at the Musée de l’Homme with Thandiwe Muriu

04.02.2025

Starting February 5th, the Musée de l’Homme in Paris will host the “WAX” exhibition, a celebration of the iconic fabric and its unique visual language. Maison Longchamp is proud to support this event as a patron and to spotlight Kenyan artist Thandiwe Muriu, whose work pays tribute to individual expression through vibrant colors and patterns.

An Artistic and Cultural Commitment

This partnership is a continuation of our ongoing collaboration with Thandiwe Muriu, whose artworks are already included in our collections and displayed at our boutique on rue de Passy as well as at our Paris headquarters.

Following the prominent featuring of her piece Souvenirs du futur on our 2025 greeting card, we further honored her by dedicating an episode of Longchamp Family to her work. This initiative strengthens our dialogue with her artistic vision—one that embodies optimism and creativity—and aligns closely with our core values of boldness, dynamism, and freedom of expression.

Thandiwe Muriu: a vibrant vision of identity

Recognized for her striking portraits, Thandiwe Muriu explores notions of identity and cultural transmission through wax fabric. Her artistic approach plays on optical illusions and colorful compositions to highlight the beauty and uniqueness of each woman.

By supporting this exhibition, Longchamp reaffirms its commitment to art and artists who push the boundaries of creativity. This commitment is in perfect harmony with the Maison's heritage, rooted in innovation and the exploration of new aesthetic territories.

An invitation to discovery

With this exhibition, open to the public from February 5 to September 7, 2025, Longchamp invites art and fashion lovers to immerse themselves in a world where tradition meets modernity. A unique visual and cultural experience, resonating with the creativity and optimism that have always driven the Maison.
